The 8-form Taiji-Yang Style is a simple form of the 24-form Taiji-Yang style intended for individuals with physical- and/or time-limiting lifestyles (i.e. sedentary work); it allows for participants to practice at their own time, without any special equipment.
Regular practice of Qi gong and Taiji exercises have shown to improve balance, coordination, flexibility, and muscle strength as well as cardiovascular health and psychological stress
If you have specific health concerns, please consult with your physician to see if practicing Taiji is appropriate for your body.
This is part of the Patient Education: Self-Care Series at UCLA Center for East-West Medicine. It supplements the Qigong and Taiji handout.
