This is just the first few minutes of the Wudang Tai Chi “Square Form”. The whole thing takes about 20 minutes. It is usually taught as an introduction to the “Round Form” – if the Round Form is equivalent to cursive handwriting, the Square Form is like block capitals. The slight pause at the end of each movement in the Square is absent in the Round, and there are many other differences. Although sometimes regarded as a “training form”, I believe the Square Form has its own subtelties and is worthy of respect in its own right.
