Xingyi / Bagua Strength and Conditioning Training

A student recently asked me; “How do you spend your spare time?” My instant and flippant retort was “what spare time?” But seriously… one of my teachers once said to me that your students can steal your own practice time if you allow that to happen. So, we have to steal it back. And many of the essential things… strength training, percussion training and conditioning, can be done in the spare minutes we have each day… the minutes between classes and private sessions.

So, here are a few of the things I like to do in those minutes… filmed as I did them over the last week. I am a firm believer in body weight strengthening exercises, percussion training for structure as well as other gains, and of course conditioning. I still do these things at the age of nearly 58 and have no intention of stopping any time soon. 🙂
